Joseph Chacha, uncle to slain Kisii University student, Leah Momanyi has decried the slow pace by the police in unravelling the murder mystery.
Chacha noted that no one has been arrested following the gruesome murder.
"The girl was killed on Friday 8th, body found on Sunday 10th, postmortem was done on Tuesday 12th, CID notified on Wednesday 13th and today is 18th yet no arrests have been made. All are quiet as though no life was lost,” said Chacha as quoted by the said Chacha.
During the night of her murder, she cried for help but no one rescued her. It was her boyfriend who discovered her body in the house two days later.
“On Sunday 10/11/2019, at about 06.00 am, a boyfriend of the deceased alleges he had come from home and when he opened the door with his key, he found Leah lying in bed, blood on the floor, room messed up, a knife on the ground and she was dead,” the police statement reads.
It was this time that her uncle was called and reported the matter to Sandton Police Post.
Chacha also noted that the police have been sluggish to start investigations into this matter.
