Speaking at Mama Ngina Waterfront Park in Mombasa County, Ruto said that the Jubilee government is committed to transform the lives of tax payers.

He also said that unemployment and poverty are among the challenges facing the government in the fight to transform the nation.

He reminded the Head of State that the plan will work only if these two challenges are dealt with.

“We must deal with poverty and we must deal with unemployment and your Excellency the framework you have set under the big 4 plan is actually the frame work that will tackle those two major challenges,” Ruto said as quoted by Citizen Digital in a tweet.

On his part, Uhuru said that his office has made several steps in the walk towards development.

He noted that he is focused to achieving the promises he made to the people while seeking reelection in 2017.

“We have undertaken tangible steps to address the unique development needs of this region. In the 6 years there has been more targeted and consulted focus on developing the coast region than at any other time in the history of our country,” Uhuru said.

ODM Leader Raila Odinga was present during the event.
