Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga has fired a salvo at the Kenya Ferry Services (KFS) boss Bakari Gowa.
Speaking on Tuesday during an interview with Citizen TV, the outspoken ODM legislator called on Gowa to tender his resignation over the tragedy that claimed the lives of Mariam Kighenda and her daughter Amanda Mutheu.
"The MD of Kenya Ferry Services should have resigned by now, " she said.
Since the Likoni tragedy, Gowa has come under blistering criticism and ticking scrutiny over the state of affairs at KFS.
He has been accused of failing to ensure that the ferries used by locals are in good condition.
The tragedy occurred after a car rolled off the faulty rear ramp of the MV Harambee ferry.
Another criticism levelled on the KFS boss has had to do with the fact that the ferries do not have stand by divers to react to incidences when they occur.
Recovery efforts are ongoing at the Likoni channel and have not yet yielded any fruits with divers from South Africa joining the recovery efforts.
Kighenda and Amanda sunk over a week ago with Kenyans wondering why the recovery efforts were not undertaken on the day that the vehicle went under.
