Two Chinese nationals have been arrested for allegedly brewing illicit liquor.
The culprits were arrested on Friday, at Green Park Estate in Athi River, Mavoko sub-county.
The two, Wang Yalan and Wang Haijian were cornered by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations officers based in Machakos where a makeshift liquor processing plant was found in their rented house.
DCI officers said that over 3,000 litres of chang'aa and busaa stored in different containers were discovered.
"A search within the suspects residents also led to the discovery of several sacks of sorghum and rice. Also found were drums of sorghum mixtures left to ferment and several huge tanks," said DCI.
The two are in custody.
This comes a few weeks after Interior CS Dr Fred Matiang'i ordered the deportations of Chinese nationals without legal working permits.
Speaking in Nakuru during the opening of an E_ passport Immigration Centre, Matiang'i noted that all Chinese working as small scale traders will be deported.
"I direct security authorities to deport the traders because they hold illegal work permits," directed the Interior CS.
