Renowned journalist Eric Njoka has shared a photo on his Twitter feed that shows no substantive action has been taken to prevent tragedy striking at the Likoni Ferry Crossing.
In the picture, a number of vehicles are seen parked at the edge of the hatchways with the ramp touching the Likoni Channel's waters.
There is absolutely no way to prevent the vehicles from plunging into the water should they reverse.
The Media Max-owned K24 Television journalist warned about another disaster, saying that no learning had occurred after the Likoni tragedy.
"In Kenya, it's a FACT that we never learn. Another imminent disaster and business as usual at the Likoni Channel. #Likoni, " Eric Njoka wrote.
The conditions portrayed in the revealing photo are the same one said to have led to the tragedy about two weeks ago that led to the deaths of Mariam Kighenda and her daughter Amanda Mutheu.
According to eye-witness accounts, the car that sunk with the 2 victims rolled off the ramp into the waters.
The bodies of the mother and her daughter were recovered a few days ago, bringing to an end recovery efforts that went on for over one week.
A cocktail of factors have been blamed for the tragedy including the poor condition of the ferries, some of which had been earmarked for decommissioning yet are still in service.
