In case of 'anything', Njiru said, he is the one responsible to rely information to the public as protocol dictates.

“I am the official Press secretary of former President Daniel arap Moi and I am the spokesperson. Unless you hear from me everything else is hogwash,” said Mr Njiru.

“Who wants to hide anything about Mzee Moi? And in any case when it comes to information about Mzee Moi, who is speaking the truth is it me or them?

Mr Njiru sparked controversy in 2009 when he accused former close allies of Moi of allegedly abandoning him when he retired in 2002.

According to him, at some point in Kabarak, Moi I would spend alone despite having rewarded many people in government. The former president celebrated his 95 birthday recently.
