The family of Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika is involved in a tussle over inheritance of her father's Sh600 million property.
Her father, the former Nakuru North MP Dickson Kihika Kimani, left behind property that has proven hard to share out of court. The family has resolved to sort out the issue in court.
The 10-year inheritance dispute involves eight widows. This has also sucked in Dickson Kihika Kimani's 41 children who have sorted some family issues in court.
For instance, Business Daily reports that Ms Peris Njoki Kihika is fighting for her freedom as she risks a two-year-jail-term after assaulting her stepsister Ms Carolyne Wanjiku Kihika. Tge assaukt happened in March 23, 2013.
Peris is a daughter of Mr Kihika’s third wife, Ms Jane Wanjiru while Carolyne is daughter to Mr Kihika’s second wife, Ms Alice Kihika and blood sister to Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika.
Nakuru High Court Resident Magistrate Rita Amwayi ruled in 2015 that Ms Peris Njoki be imprisoned for two years.
She appealed the decision and was released on a Sh30,000 bond pending hearing and determination.
The property tussle might continue to weaken family ties of the veteran politician. He served as an MP for Molo (1997-2002), Laikipia West (1992-1997) and Nakuru North (1974-1979).
He died in 2004, aged 78.
