In it's final report, the BBI task-force proposed that the county be given a special status, which will see some of it's very important issues handled by the central government.

However, Kerrow opposed the proposal arguing that Nairobi's problems lie in governance and not status of the county.

"The problem with Nairobi is about governance and leadership and not status. The issue of saying Nairobi should be given special status will be undemocratic," he said on Sidebar on Tuesday night.

He lauded the ongoing purge on graft in the counties, adding that DPP Noordin Haji is doing a good job in the fight against graft.

"What the DPP has done is something remarkable as far as devolution is concerned, because every year the Auditor General report never misses plunder and looting in counties," he added.

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko is the latest county boss to be arrested and presented in court over corruption allegations.
