The first woman to be elected MP in the North-Eastern region made the revelation in a Facebook post on Monday.

Ijara members of county assembly (MCAs), Samawadhal professionals and technical census committee were involved.

"Conducted community sensitization and awareness creation on the census in Garissa town together with all the MCAs from Ijara, Samawadhal professionals and the technical census committee. We are appealing to each and every person from Ijara constituency to come and be counted in Ijara on the nights of 24th and 25th of August 2019. We are doing everything in our capacity to make sure our right numbers are captured in the census and are urging the people of Ijara to make maximum efforts to be counted too for the benefit of our constituency, " her Facebook post read.

Noor has been involved in an awareness creation campaign aimed at persuading residents from Ijara constituency to participate in the census so that they can be counted.

She had earlier expressed her concerns about Garissa County residents missing out due to the pastoral nature of their lives.

She had called on the government to put in place elaborate interventions to ensure that no one is left out.
