Police in Eldoret have arrested one suspect in possession of stolen house equipment in Kamukunji estate on the outskirts of Eldoret town.
According to Uasin Gishu County Commander Johnston Ipara, the officers made the arrest after receiving a tip-off from members of the public.
“I want to confirm that police have arrested one suspect by the name David Mwangi a Kamukunji resident who was found with stolen house equipment in his house,” said the Uasin Gishu County Commander.
Ipara who made the remarks while addressing journalists at the Eldoret Central Police Station on Monday said the suspect had allegedly been involved in the crime for t some time.
“We managed to net 13 used gas cylinders,10 plastic chairs, 9 Sufurias,1 frying pan one 100 litres tank and a mortar,” added Ipara.
He said the suspect is being held at Eldoret Central police station and will be arraigned in court soon and that they are looking for other suspects who are alleged to be working with him in his illegal deeds.
He reiterated that police will continue with the fight against those stealing house equipment until those involved in the crime in the county and its neighbouring environs are arrested and face the full force of the law.
