The position is currently revolving around ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula, both of whom Manyora says are not serious with the slot.

Speaking on Saturday, he said that if serious, Khalwale could take over the region and unite it, which would see him become more valuable to Deputy President William Ruto.

He said that thanks to the luhya numerical power, its time that he took over from the two and led the community into Jubilee Party, which would compel Ruto into picking him as his running mate in his (Ruto) 2022 presidential bid.

"Boni Khalwale, you must lead the Luhyas if you can, into taking a meaningful position in Jubilee. Let the Luhyas begin to see you, let William Ruto have no choice than to take you as his running mate. Play your game so that you don't shame the Luhya," he said.

The commentator who was speaking on his weekly YouTube analysis channel Take It or Leave It challenged Khalwale to package himself in such a way that he will look attractive to Ruto as a running mate.

He urged him to ensure that he compels the DP into looking nowhere else for a deputy.

He lauded him as a bold man who has done what many leaders would not do; leaving a community party, Ford Kenya, to join a more the Jubilee Party, in broad daylight.

He observed that should Khalwale apply the same boldness in taking over the leadership, then Luhyas might finally land a meaningful position in government after the 2022 polls.

"I like his boldness, his openness, by leaving Ford Kenya, Luhya party, by leaving Moses Wetangula, the party leader, and joining Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee via William Ruto in broad daylight, that's what a man does," he added.

Khalwale has been seen fully involving himself in Jubilee matters after leaving Ford Kenya where he was the Deputy Party Leader, his latest assignment being campaigning for Jubilee Kibra parliamentary hopeful McDonald Mariga.
