President Uhuru Kenyatta knows the best persons to replace former National Treasury Cabinet Secretary (CS) Henry Rotich permanently, Cherengany MP Joshua Kutuny has said.
Speaking moments after Uhuru named Labour Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani as acting Treasury CS, Kuttuny asked Kenyans to remain patient.
He divulged that there is nothing much Kenyans should read between the lines since the president has only picked Yatani in acting position.
“The President knows who is suitable for the position. I have full confidence in him that he will deliver,” Kutuny said as quoted by Nation.
The appointment comes after Rotich and his Principal Secretary Kamau Thugge were arrested and charged over the loss of funds in the Arror and Kimwarer dams scandal.
The duo denied the charges leveled against them and were freed on a cash bail of Sh15 million each.
Following the ruling, the President made some changes in government to fill the vacancy left by Rotich and Thugge.
Dr Julius Monzi Muia was appointed the Principal Secretary for the National Treasury, replacing Thugge.
