Political analyst Edward Kisiangani now says that chances are there that Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader could fail to pursue the presidency in the 2022 general polls.
In a tweet on Wednesday, the university professor who has been under attacks from Twitter users over his pro-Deputy President William Ruto Ruto analyses claimed that Raila could end up endorsing the DP's bid in 2022.
In a bashing to Kenyans, whom he claimed are blindly following political lords, he observed that the same would be succeeded by an automatic shift of allegiance from the same people who have been criticizing him for supporting Ruto.
According to the commentator, should the same happen, then Raila's supporters who are currently completely against Ruto are likely to immediately become his greatest supporters.
"If tomorrow Raila Odinga endorses Ruto for 2022 (and there are possibilities that could happen) those insulting me now will quickly adjust and say Ruto is the real deal, the angel! To whom did we surrender our brains? This is a horrible intellectual tragedy! Count me out!" he tweeted.
He called upon Kenyans to shun the tradition of blindly submitting to their preferred political leaders and begin asking questions and making independent political decisions.
According to Kisiangani, Kenyans are currently being driven like herds by politicians, a culture then need to come out of.
"The problem with our country is this cancer we call the 'herd mentality'. A politician pops up one day n tells you so and so is a devil. Day two the same politician tells that the devil has now become an angel! People should learn to question things and make independent judgements," he added.
And though he remains silent on his plans, forces close to Raila have hinted that he might take his fifth shot at the top seat, while the DP's bid is already in the public domain.
