Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp has spoken out after an angry outburst by Sadio Mane after being substituted in Liverpool's 3-0 thriller against a misfiring Burnely on Saturday.
In a press conference, the German tactician pinned the open display of dissent to the fact that the Senegalese forward is a pretty emotional person, saying that he did not mind the fact the player was emotional, calling it normal in football.
He said that he had engaged the player in the dressing room to ease the tensions and that the two were able to able to get over the incident.
"Mané is an emotional guy, something went not like he wanted,” Klopp said.
“It was obvious he was upset, he cannot hide his emotions at times and I don’t mind that. It happens sometimes in football and he didn’t say any wrong words. We are all still friends. We spoke in the dressing room and he is fine, everything is good and we completely like each other, " he added.
There was speculation on social media that the angry outburst was triggered by Mane's displeasure at Mohamed Salah's failure to pass the ball to better-positioned players including Mane himself.
Klopp did not confirm the speculation only saying that he knew what the problem was and it was not the substitution.
