This incident was confirmed by Yatta sub-county police commander Joseph Karanja who said that the body was discovered near a bread-making company (Betta).

He said it is possible the man was killed somewhere else and his body dumped at the scene.

"One male adult was found dead in Matuu, age unknown, we suspect it to be a murder case," said Karanja.

He said the man's hands and legs had been tied and he had a rope around his neck. He noted that the body was picked and moved to city mortuary in Nairobi for preservation awaiting identification.

"The man had his hands and legs tied and had a rope around his neck, police cleared the scene and moved the body to city mortuary," said Karanja.

He said that police will investigate the incident and unravel the mystery.

He urged residents with any information concerning the matter to report to the police.

We have no leads for now but we will commence thorough investigations and get to the root of the matter, I would urge anyone with information that may help with investigations to report, "he said.
