Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula used the Western region BBI forum to fault President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking on Saturday at Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega County, the Bungoma Senator said that the President should be sensitive to regional economic needs and allocate resources to all Kenyans.
"I want to congratulate President Uhuru Kenyatta. Recently he rightly allocated money to the coffee, tea and milk sectors. When we are done with this meeting, we want money channelled to the sugarcane and maize sectors as well as to the youth. (Nataka kushukuru Raisi Uhuru Kenyatta. Juzi nimeona and rightly so, amepeana pesa kwa kahawa, amepeana pesa kwa majani chai na amepeana pesa kwa maziwa. Sasa tukimaliza hapa, tunataka kuona pesa kwa miwa, tunataka kuona pesa kwa mahindi na tunataka kuona pesa kwa vijana)," Wetangula partly said, in a video shared on YouTube by Nation.
According to the senator, leaders must respect all BBI pillars including economic inclusivity and electoral malpractices.
He also urged politicians to prioritize views given by common Kenyans over self-interest.
Wetangula was linked to the cancelled Mumias meeting organized by local leaders allied to Deputy President William Ruto but attended the Bukhungu event graced by ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi was also present.
