Nakuru leaders have welcomed the appointment of Nakuru lawyer Lawrence Karanja to the position of Chief Administrative Secretary Ministry of Industrialization by president Uhuru Kenyatta.
Immediately the news broke on Tuesday, the social platforms in Nakuru were full of congratulation messages.
Kabazi Ward MCA Dr Peter Mbae on his Facebook account wrote:
"I thank President Uhuru Kenyatta for appointing Nakuru lawyer Lawrence Karanja to the position of CAS.
Mbae a member of Trade, Industrialization, Cooperatives and Tourism committee in the county assembly of Nakuru says he looks forward to working with the new CAS to realize the Naivasha industrial park among other initiatives.
Nakuru businessman Eng. Victor Ngatia also commending the move.
Through Nakuru Analyst WhatsApp group, Eng. Ngatia wrote, "Congratulation to Wakili Lawrence. Nakuru slowly getting some attention. Thanks to HE Lee Kinyanjui.The positive influence is noted".
Similar sentiments were echoed by GDC Director Kamau Kuria who wrote, "Congratulations to Wakili Lawrence for the new appointment".
The appointment follows reshuffle made to the cabinet.
Where Betty Maina takes over as CS Health, Rachael Omamo(CS Foreign Affairs), Sicily Kariuki(CS Water), Munya now takes over Agriculture while Juma, Chelugui and Yatani take over Defense, Labour and Treasury respectively.
