The Association of Faith Churches and Ministries (AFCM) College’s two year’s training was conducted through correspondence with graduation for first and second-year courses.

Speaking on the sixth graduation ceremony at Kisii main prison on Saturday, the college’s Africa coordinator and Rev Tobias Ondipo said the bible school had initiated a tremendous change in the lives of the inmates.

Ondipo said it had imparted knowledge on to the inmates on character development, responsible citizenry, and morality in the society.

Those who had completed their jail terms, remarked, Ondipo's saying that they are ministering at the rehabilitation facilities sustaining the reforms.

Aaron George Morara a former prisoner who underwent the training said it had helped him be accepted by the community that still viewed him as a criminal.

“I am one of the beneficiaries of this program and now am also ministering to the community who sometimes do not believe that a prisoner can change after jail,” he said.

The rehabilitated former prisoner who had served six years for undisclosed offense advised his colleagues to apply the skills trained on them if they were to be integrated in the communities.

Tom Fix, a representative of the Minessota, USA based Church, said they were impressed with the impact of the training on the prisoners in Kenyan penal facilities.

He urged the inmates to practice the skills learned in spreading the gospel of good news geared towards transforming them and effecting social change.
