Dennis Omosa, the brother to Fannis Gesare who was murdered while pregnant testified on Tuesday against Isaiah Ongoro facing the murder charges.
Ongoro was Gesare's husband and stands accused of killing his wife in Mawanga estate, Nakuru County in September 2017.
The case presided over by Justice Rachel Ng'etich of Nakuru High Court was heard on Tuesday morning.
Omosa told the court that on that day, he was called by Ongoro to help him carry his wife to the hospital to deliver.
“The accused made an emergency call and told me that my sister was about to give birth. He said they needed my taxi to carry her to the hospital," narrated Omosa.
Omosa who is a taxi driver in Nakuru said that he rushed to Mawanga and unfortunately found his sister lying unconsciously on the floor.
He quickly rushed her to Nakuru Nursing Home but was pronounced dead on arrival.
"My late sister had earlier complained that the accused was brutally beating and abusing her. He also threatened me when I asked him about my sister's death," said Omosa amid emotions.
According to the pathologist's report submitted in court, the Gesare, 35, suffered bruises on the right shoulder and blood clot on her lungs leading to the death of her unborn baby.
Justice Ng'etich said the trial will resume on November 4. Ongoro was released on Sh300,000 bond.
