The Women League (Thingira) of the Kikuyu Council of elders has warned politicians against insulting President Uhuru Kenyatta over his move to fight corruption and unite Kenyans.

Addressing the media in Nakuru on Friday during their annual conference, the members led by their chairlady Lucy Kibui said politicians should stop politicizing the war on graft.

While commending President Uhuru's stand on corruption, the elders assured him of their support.

“We demand those who are abusing President and his mother to stop with immediate effect. We commend the President for the fight on graft and we call on leaders to fully stand with him” read part of the statement.

The elders also rallying behind the Building Bridges Initiative which they say has continued to ensure peace in the country.

According to the Women League, the elders from all the communities should work closely in seeking ways and means to cooperate and push for all-inclusive governance arrangements in 2022 and after.
