A Nairobi-based journalist working with a local media house is appealing for financial help to bury her mother who succumbed to cancer.
Carolyn Agosa's mother, Evaline Kaseyi Majani, died on July 1 after along battle with cancer.
Agosa's family cannot, however, bury her beloved mother since her body is detained at Matter Hospital over accumulated medical bills.
According to the family, before her death, Majani's medical bill had risen to Sh1.3 million.
The family says that despite settling half of the medical bill, the hospital has refused to release the body of their beloved one for burial.
According to the family, they owe the hospital Sh591, 670 and have so far exhausted their financial sources.
The family had hoped to bury the late Evaline on July 27 in Vihiga County, but they are yet to raise the medical bill balance.
The deceased daughter says that despite the assurance from her employer, and her Sacco to the hospital that the remaining bill will be settled, the medical facility is not willing to release her mum's body for burial.
She is now appealing to friends and Kenyans of goodwill to help her raise the medical balance so that she can rest her mother.
Any financial aid can be sent to Pay Bill No. 240559, Account Name Carolyne Agosa.
