Speaking in Vihiga county on Sunday, Ruto tore into the bill, saying that the exclusion of Kenyans in its composition is the reason why it is being rejected by county assemblies.

But when asked by a Twitter user on why he is yet to respond, the former presidential aspirant said that he has better things to do for now, in the name of pushing the bill further.

He added that his main focus, for now, is bringing about inclusivity through the bill, through continued lobbying, and will not be deterred by such remarks.

"You don't throw a stone at every barking dog, as the English would say. Punguza Mizigo Bill 2019 is our main focus now and we are still on with the lobbying. The bill is the only way to equalize all Kenyans and attain true and meaningful inclusivity. We are not deterred," Aukot tweeted on Tuesday.

He claimed that the bill, whose rejection he has blamed on some unnamed government officials, is being fought by the rich and privileged.

However, he predicted a  win, claiming that the bill enjoys the backing of the majority poor, who will help it win the war against the rich.

"Punguza Mizigo Bill 2019 is basically the war between the poor and the rich. The rich and the privileged as well those doing cheap politics are fighting it. Fortunately, the poor are the majority and a win is inevitable," he noted in another tweet.
