Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary-General Francis Atwoli has launched a scathing attack at Western leaders who have vowed to back Deputy President William Ruto in 2022
Speaking during the burial of soccer legend Joe Kadenge in Vihiga, Atwoli said the leaders will be surprised when that time comes.
He warned members of the Luhya community hailing from Western Kenya against backing leaders who are ever-changing their stand as far as politics is concerned.
Atwoli also revealed that they have plans to organise Bukhungu II where they will declare the direction the community will take when that time comes.
He said the deputy president stands no chance of ascending to power.
“For 2022 election, you will only decide on your own whom to vote for as a ward rep but for the MP we will guide you, for Senator, we will guide you, for governor we will guide you, yees!,” Atwoli said as quoted by Standard.
Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula and Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi asked the leaders from the region to remain united, and support one of their own to rise to power.
The leaders said they stand no chance to beat Ruto if they are not united.
