Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen on Saturday said he will work with other leaders to ensure full implementation of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report recommendations.
In a tweet after attending a church service at Makongeni SDA church, Murkomen affirmed that everything would be done to ensure the BBI report is implemented in a sincere manner.
"Today I attended church service at Makongeni Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church, Nairobi. I assured the worshipers that we shall all work to ensure BBI is implemented with sincere hearts and spirit," the senator said.
Murkomen's intervention comes amid a vicious debate on how the BBI report should be adopted.
A section of politicians have said they will oppose a referendum as a means of adoption, arguing that it will be expensive and burdensome to taxpayers.
However, ODM leader Raila Odinga has opposed the document being debated and adopted in Parliament.
The former Prime Minister contends that Kenyans should be given the opportunity to decide the fate of the BBI report.
There appears to be a near unanimous view that the BBI document is fit for adoption, how it should be adopted is what is proving to be a hard nut to crack.
