Kenyans on Twitter have roasted former presidential candidate Martha Karua after she slammed Safaricom over the appointment of Michael Joseph as Interim CEO.
This follows the death of Bob Collymore on Monday.
In a tweet, on Tuesday, the NARC Kenya party leader alleged that Safaricom showed lack of confidence in its senior staff.
"Not good at all, this looks like a vote of no confidence on all the senior guys @SafaricomPLC and talks volumes of a deficit in succession planning!" she tweeted.
However, Kenyans who had different thoughts with Karua slammed her saying that her sentiments are unwarranted.
Joseph served as Safaricom CEO from July 2000 to November 2010. He is the current chairman of Kenya Airways.
He was re-appointed a day after the death of former CEO Bob Collymore.
"Following the passing of the company’s CEO, at a Special Board meeting of the Directors, the board resolved to appoint Michael Joseph, a Board member of the Company as the interim CEO with immediate effect,” read a statement issued by Kathryne Maundu, Safaricom’s Company Secretary, as reported by Capital FM
Collymore died of cancer at the age of 61.
