The party has now organized to meet next week where the officials will deliberate on the naming of the new chairman to replace the second-term governor in the same capacity.

The party’s National Executive Council has already approved the replacement of Kibwana after he became rebellious to the Kamba political kingpin.

Kalonzo has also said that the party will meet to discuss a number of issues affecting the party as he seeks to rise to power.

“We have scheduled the in-house meeting with the party’s national officials and we will use the opportunity to take stock of where we are and where we want to be. The position of the chair will be one of them,” he said, as quoted by Standard.

Kalonzo also remained coy on commenting about Kibwana but at some point, he admitted that all is not merry between them.

The Wiper Leader admitted Kibwana into the party in 2017 and gave him a direct ticket to defend his position before he fell out with him.

Kalonzo has also reiterated that Kibwana has a democratic right to leave if he feels unhappy about party management.
