Unlicensed liquor sellers in Keroka, Nyamira County have been put on notice during this festive season.
Keroka OCPD Walter Apondo stated that liquor sellers who have no legal licences from relevant agencies will be arrested.
"We will not allow the sell of liquor by people who are not licensed as required by the law. Liquor sellers should display the relevant licences at their premises failure to which they will be arrested and such premises shut down," he said in Keroka town on Tuesday.
The OCPD pointed out that during the Christmas season, rogue traders may sell substandard liquor to residents.
Apondo further appealed to residents to avoid excessive consumption of alcohol during the festive season warning bar owners against operating outside the constitutionally allowed hours.
"Police officers will be going round to ensure bars opening early in the morning are closed down. People should be allowed to work before going to drink. It is important for bar owners to regulate the time they are opening their businesses failure to which we will act and shut down the bars," he added.
