Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga on Monday came out to mourn Benga Musician John De Mathew.
In his condolence message, Raila, who is also the African Union High Representative for Infrastructure Development remembered John De Mathew as an artist who campaigned against illicit brew.
"John Ng'ang'a Mwangi a.k.a John De Mathew did a great job as an artist. He enlightened young people against illicit brews while also educating his community on culture and current affairs. I wish his family and fans comfort during this trying time. May his soul rest in peace," he said.
Mr Odinga who is currently in Indonesia where he is expected to address the Indonesia-Africa Infrastructure Dialogue, stated that Kenya has lost a man who taught other about culture and current affairs.
John De Mathew died on Sunday after his car run into a Lorry at the Blue Post Hotel in Thika.
Confirming his death, Thika Base Commander Elenah Wamuyu said that he was alone in his car when the accident happened.
However, he didnt die on spot. He was rushed to Thika Nursing home, where he was pronounced death on arrival.
Many leaders have come out to mourn him, stating that his death is a big loss to the whole nation.
