Speaking during an interview at Citizen TV on Friday, the Mombasa-born Passaris said her mother was a Dutch-Kikuyu, and her dad was Greek.

“I was born in Mombasa, my mother is Dutch-Kikuyu and my father is Greek so I’m a cocktail,” said Esther Passaris

Passaris recounted that she got born again the night after she lost her chance of contesting for Miss World back in 1991 when she was hellbent on pursuing a career in modelling.

“I had a pact with God that if I do not win to go for the Miss World, then that would be the last night, then I would get born again the next day. I was kind of scared to get born again and then be modelling," she added.

Over the years, there have been questions surrounding her origin given that she bears a blend of Greek and Kikuyu names.

She first shot into the limelight over two decades ago due to her project dubbed Adopt a light in the city.

She then became a popular figure with her entry into politics in 2017 when she successfully trounced former Nairobi Woman Representative Rachel Shebesh.
