Kenya is not the place where for foreigners who fleece their nations come to invest their dirty earned millions, Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti has said.
Speaking during a retreat for prosecutors from East Africa on Tuesday, Kinoti said President Uhuru Kenyatta-led government will not provide a hideout and investment hub for the foreigners being sought by their governments.
He said that the foreigners in dirty deals will be exposed and shamed whenever they are discovered.
He assured other nations that his team is ready to fight any evil for the sake of economic growth as long as he remains in office in the DCI capacity.
Kinoti also cautioned such individuals of dire consequences if they are found culpable by the anti-graft body as Uhuru, who is completing his second and final term seeks to leave behind a legacy.
Kinoti further said that Kenya is ready to partner with the neighbouring countries in the fight against various forms of crime
“You’ll never steal from another country and live to enjoy the sweat of others when in another country. We’re going to smoke you out as a criminal,” said the DCI in part, as quoted by Citizen.
The remarks come after a warrant of arrest was issued against Italian Contractor in Arror-Kimwarer dam project.
