Popular Tanzanian songstress Vanessa Mdee on Sunday opened up on why she dropped out of college.
In an Instagram post, Vanessa revealed that she dropped out of school after the death of her father.
According to the singer, they could not afford to pay for the college's fee after the death of her father.
She then moved and begun her career at MTV Africa where she started from the top and rose all the way up.
Vanessa made the announcement that she was going back to the college from which she dropped out as the judge of East Africa Got Talent.
"Full circle moment for me; I dropped out of college when Dad died to pursue my career at MTV AFRICA (we couldn’t afford it anymore). Today I return to that very same college as a judge on @eastafricagt to see someone else’s dreams become a reality. Bittersweet memories BE GONE, we are making history over the next 3 weeks. WE GO LIVE at 8pm EAT. These are the semi finals catch us on," she wrote on Instagram.

Currently, she is as a judge at the EAT alongside Kenyan TV host Jeff Koinange.
