According to former Murang'a Senator Kembi Gitura, who also served as Deputy Senate Speaker, the actions of the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator of opposing Jubilee Party policies should not be taken lightly and that he should resign.

Gitura believes that with the coming together of President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga, it would not be hard to promote government agenda in the Senate.

"It is critical. With the handshake, where President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga agreed to work together, it cannot be hard to pass any business that the President wants," he said, in an opinion piece in the Star newspaper.

While pushing for Murkomen's ouster, the former Senator said that the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator cannot serve the same government he is opposed to.

"So in a normal party system, if Murkomen feels he can stand and talk against Jubilee and the government and its public duty, then the best thing for him to do is to resign," said the former Kenyan ambassador to Belgium.

Murkomen, a key ally of the Deputy President William Ruto, has in the past few weeks been a very harsh critic of the government and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
