AFC Leopards players were allegedly denied food at a city hotel on Thursday as the club's financial crisis deepened.
Defender Soter Kayumba, goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan and striker Ismaila Diarra were also denied access to essential amenities at the facility forcing them to miss training on Thursday.
"Yes, they missed training and it is true there are pending bills in the hotel they are staying in. They were denied food and other essential services, and could not make it to training. However, the club has sorted the issue and the three are now okay and they will be available for our Sunday game against Sofapaka," a Source told Goal on Friday.
The club did not give a clear answer concerning the incident when reached by Goal.
Club's Football Operations Manager Tom Juma only confirmed that there was a minor issue that was sorted and affected players trained on Friday.
"Diarra, Ochan, and Kayumba trained on Friday, they looked good and ready for our weekend game. Yes, there was a little problem but I understand it has been solved," Juma said.
AFC Leopards is among the clubs who were affected by SportPesa's decision to withdraw from the Kenyan market due to what they called hefty taxation.
They are yet to get another reliable sponsor.
