Soy Member of Parliament Caleb Kositany has insisted that the relationship between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto remains intact as was the case before.
This comes amid an apparent widening rift between the two, with the DP lately openly questioning some of the Uhuru-backed initiatives, including the referendum push.
But Kositany, a close ally of the DP, maintains that the two remain close, dismissing the said looming fallout as false rumours emanating from people out to rock their union.
He has termed it the work of a few individuals who recently joined the two in the Jubilee Party, as well as hangers-on who have no idea on how the Jubilee Party came to be.
"These are a few individuals who are causing disharmony. They have no idea how this government was formed otherwise Uhuru and Ruto are working together," he was quoted on Tuesday.
But his remarks come at a time when the disagreements between the two are growing more open.
For instance, Ruto on Sunday once again poked holes into the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) cofounded by Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga, terming it a ploy to misuse public funds.
“What are all these campaigns for? Who do they want to persuade? Is it a way of misusing government resources? If there are those opposing BBI, let them not hide behind these campaigns. They should come out and say what they are opposed to,” he said in Soy constituency.
