Nominated Member of Parliament Godfrey Ososti has hit out at allies of Deputy President William Ruto, after they declared that they'll attend rallies meant to popularise the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
Ososti said the change of tune by the Tanga Tanga politicians was a plot to take over BBI and mess it up, after they realised it was rapidly gaining traction.
He termed the group as 'tactless and unwise' and challenged them to openly reject BBI instead of trying in vain to hijack it.
"Ruto-led tangatanga is groping in darkness in their vain attempts to take control of BBI and muddle it. They are clearly tactless, unwise, amateurish and too reactionary in their game of nuisance. They should be bold enough to just oppose BBI before a political disaster hit them," tweeted the Amani National Congress (ANC) legislator on Wednesday.
After refusing to attend Kisii and Kakamega rallies, DP Ruto's allies, led by Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen, announced that they will be joining other leaders in the meetings starting with Mombasa BBI forum, scheduled for Saturday.
They also announced plans to organise complimentary meetings in other parts of the country, 'to support existing efforts and complement the already scheduled rallies'.
"We shall soon announce the calendar of complimentary rallies to reinforce those already published. To these rallies, everybody irrespective of political opinion is invited,” Murkomen said.
