He alluded that DP Ruto's camp wants to make Raila appear as a violent leader while Raila's team also wants to prove otherwise. 

He also said that the referendum has taken the two camps to what transpired in 1982, where Raila has been linked to the attempt to overthrow retired President Daniel Arap Moi and 2007 where Ruto emerged as one of the suspects of the post-election violence.

The handshake between Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta has led to the BBI report. Both leaders have asked Kenyans to read the report before they declare their stand on the same.
