Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are working on the case, where the DP has claimed that his life is in danger as some persons are plotting his murder.

Anyonka has noted that the matter is being probed despite no person having made a formal report or recorded s statement, which makes it a very unique and rare as per the Kenyan laws.

He says that in normal situations, the case would have been thrown out since the DP is yet to even appear at the DCI offices, having only made a report through a phone call.

"Katika sheria zetu lazima kuwe na mlalamishi, acheck in pale kwa OB na aandike statement. Hii ni unique investigations kwa sababu hakuna complainant," he said on Radio Maisha, Monday.

This translates to; "A complainant must check in and record a statement according to our laws. This is a unique investigation as there is no complainant."

He added that the issue is only being addressed because it's touching on the life of the Deputy President who forms the presidency.

"Ni kwa sababu tu ya sensitivity of the matter (it's because of the sensitivity of the matter)," he added.

Consequently, Statehouse Digital Director Denis Itumbi has been arrested over claims of being part of the team that might have authored the letter.
