Anti-government protest rocked Iran's capital, Tehran, on Saturday, as thousands of people went to the streets to condemn Iran government after admitting to shooting down Ukrainian plane.
Iran, according to the Guardian, had termed the incidence as a 'human error and 'US adventurism'.
New York Times reports that the plane tragedy has thrown Iran into a quagmire, as it is now caught between a domestic turmoil within and increased abroad criticism over its damning action, a thing that has obscured Iran tension with the United States.
Protests rocked Tehran and other cities as shocked Iranians found a new reason to lack confidence in Iran supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his officials.
Anti-riot police dispersed violent demonstrators with teargas as some shouted, 'Khamenei is a murderer', a video showed.
Other video showed demonstrators shouting, "Khamenei have shame. Leave the country," CNN reported.
A mass vigil commemorating the victims of the doomed flight escalated into angry demonstrations following the government admission," FARS News agency said.
The demonstrations have now thrown a once unified nation by the slain general Qasem Soleimani, back to unrest following a government admission of bringing down the Ukraine aeroplane even as Ukraine demands that Tehran take full responsibility of the incidence.
