Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot has taken a swipe at State House operatives following the alleged locking of DP William Ruto's official residence in Mombasa.
The government had acquired a house at the coast ostensibly for any sitting Deputy President of the republic of Kenya.
Reports show that Ruto's belongings were removed from the house, a move that could cause political storm in the country.
And Cheruiyot has rubbished the move, arguing that it will only double Dr William Ruto's blessings in his quest for power.
"Like every Kawaida Hustler, the DP came back from Christmas to find the landlord had padlocked the gate," said Cheruiyot, a close ally of the DP, in a tweet.
"Usual January blues, am sure they shall pass. Stay the course @WilliamsRuto . There's a cheque am awaiting, ikipita nitakukumbuka," he added.
Ruto's allies have been accusing a section of government officials of undermining the DP, with Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i and his PS Karanja Kibicho often linked to the sinister motives.
But the two state officers have often denied of any wrong doing, arguing that they take orders from President Uhuru Kenyatta alone.
Dr Ruto has been traversing the country in a bid to popularise his presidential bid, a move that has attracted condemnation from Uhuru's allies.
