Otile Brown alleges that awards for artists in Africa are never genuine.
Speaking while on Wasafi FM on Monday Otile said African awards never go to the rightful artists.
He recalled how he was once asked to gather for his transport expenses so that one award could be reserved for him.
However, Otile noted that he has been getting nomination but never bothered to post and seek votes from his supporters
"I usually don't want talk about this because there some people who will feel offended, but it what it is, mi huwa nominated at the end of the day, but huwa sipost, because these things ain't genuine anymore," he said.
Otile went further and revealed that most artists understand the game and what usually happens behind the scene before awards are channelled to 'winners'
"I stopped considering the awards when I was too assured to win one if I was to travel to the event (The minute mimi nilipigiwanga nikaambiwa wewe ukijilipia ndege uje huku nitakukabidhi award, and artists know these things)," he said.
He said he believes in his talents and not the awards.
Otile finally concluded that "There is no" single award organized in Africa that is genuine he can willingly take part in, nevertheless, he lauded rapper Khaligraph Jones who on weekend was crowned the best rapper in Africa
