The county government of Nyeri has pledged to pay school fees for Andy Michael Munyiri, KCPE 2019 top performer in the country.
Munyiri is a resident of Maragima village, Kieni Sub-County, in Nyeri but spent his 8 years of his primary education in Damacrest Academy in Uthiru, Kiambu County.
The young Munyiri attributed his sterling performance to hard work and support from his teachers.
“I attribute my success to prayers, support and encouragement from my teachers and family,” Munyiri said in Nyeri on Tuesday when he paid a courtesy call to Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga.
Kahiga said the county will fully sponsor Munyiri throughout his secondary education.
“We will pay all your school fees because you have done us proud by becoming a first in the country,” Kahiga stated.
Munyiri hopes to join Alliance Boys' High School. His dream is to become an automotive engineer.
