This comes amid confusion and a growing rift between several factions of the party, which has seen some party members form groups to counter each other.

But speaking at the St Luke's PCEA in Mihang'o, Nairobi on Sunday, the DP said that a meeting is coming, in a bid to restore unity in the party and mong members.

And with the party having not met since President Uhuru Kenyatta's reelection in 2017, the DP now says that the meeting will as well be used to strengthen it politically ahead of the much awaited 2022 elections.

"I see other political parties such as ODM and Ford Kenya have been preparing and revamping their parties and I want to announce that also we as Jubilee will be planning ourselves to ensure that we spread politics of unity,” he was quoted by the Standard.

The party has been divided into the main Tanga Tanga and Kieleweke groups which have been fighting each other after taking sides with the president and the deputy.

The same began after Uhuru's truce with former Premier Raila Odinga, which has received an equal measure of support and rejection from members, further weakening the side.

Uhuru has, however, remained silent on any plans to restore calm in the party, while Ruto's allies in the Tanga Tanga faction have been pushing for a Parliamentary Group meeting.
