Seven suspected criminals have been arrested in Nairobi over robbery allegations.
In a series of tweets, DCI noted that the suspects were behind a robbery incident on Saturday, where a man was reportedly robbed Sh900,000 at a car yard.
The suspects reportedly posed as clients broke into the man's car at the yard and took away the money, but were caught on CCTV cameras.
"Seven members of a notorious criminal gang which on Saturday 11th Jan, 2020 broke into and stole Sh900,000 from a parked car at a car yard along Ngong Road was today arrested by DCI Kilimani detectives and three motor vehiclesbelieved to be used in the perpetration detained, said DCI.
"The gang had trailed the victim from KCB Buruburu to the yard where he intended to purchase a car. Having parked the vehicle he was using, the victim locked it leaving the money therein as he went to be shown around. The gang who also posed as customers parked alongside the victim's car before breaking in, and disappearing with the money, but were ," DCI said.
Following the incident, detectives launched a hunt for the suspects, leading to their arrest today.
The DCI has urged members of the public to remain vigilant, even as they strive to create a crime free society.
"We caution members of the public to beware of such criminals even as we heighten our detective bars to paralyse their efforts and bring perpetrators to book," DCI posted.
