Speaking during an interview with NTV on Thursday at his Karen Home in Nairobi, Ruto said that he will protect public funds if he ascends to power when that time comes.

He insisted that he is the best candidate to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta when he completes his second and final term in government. The second in command said that he will ensure that all the resources are properly utilized so that there is nothing lost in the long run.

"If I get the opportunity to run a government, there will be no corruption. There will be no money to steal because every coin will be used. There will be no coin loitering anywhere for anyone to steal," he said.

On the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report popularization rallies, Ruto said that he has nothing against them.

He divulged that he is fully behind the report. Ruto assured Kenyans that he will back the BBI team as far as popularizing the report is concerned. Before the interview, Ruto had termed the rallies  as a waste of money. On Wednesday, his allies led by Senator Kipchumba Murkomen declared that they will attend all the rallies.

They, however, warned the opposition against using the forums to insult Ruto.
