Nyamira County Senator Okong'o Omogeni has described Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i as a performer who cannot be obstructed from occupying State House.
Omogeni while speaking during an interview at a local vernacular Radio Station, Minto FM on Tuesday said Matiang'i's track record speaks for itself.
He opined that every Kenyan knows Matiang'i's good work since he was absorbed into the government.
"No one will stand on Matiang'i's way to State House. A section of elected MPs from Gusii region led by South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro opposed to Matiang'i's good leadership will not manage to obstruct CS Matiang'i from occupying State House," he said.
The vocal senator maintained that he fully supports Matiang'i, therefore he has no problem with the former Education CS running for the presidency.
According to Omogeni, the Gusii community has all it takes to produce the next president.
"President Uhuru trusted Matiang'i to the extent he promoted him to coordinate national government projects across the country. This is a clear indication that Matiang'i can make a good president. Tanga Tanga team pushing for DP Ruto's 2022 presidential bid will not penetrate in Gusii community politics," said Okong'o.
He appealed to Gusii community members to support one of their own (Matiang'i).
