Have you ever wondered how legendary Harambee Stars coach Jacob 'Ghost' Mulee acquired the name 'Ghost'?
Speaking at an interview on KTN on Friday, the Radio Jambo morning show host said that he got the name as a kid playing football at Camp Toyoyo.
Mulee says he would make extraordinary saves so that the referee had to confirm whether the save had been made earning him the name 'Ghost.'
"Well Ghost is a name that I got when I was young. I was a goalkeeper when I was playing football and I used to make saves and we didn't have nets so sometimes they have to confirm whether the ball has gone in or out. So that's actually where the name originated. The field is Camp Toyoyo, that's where I started my football career. So the Ghost has stayed till today, " the legendary coach said.
'Ghost' Mulee presided over the Harambee Stars qualification into the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in 2004 that was staged in Tunisia.
It took 15 years after that qualification for the Kenyan football team to qualify again for the continental tournament in 2019 in Egypt.
He retired as a football coach and is now a radio show host at the Radio Africa-owned Radio Jambo.
