Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Amolo Odinga has said that the launch of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) marks the beginning of a new era.
In a tweet, Raila said that Kenyans have an opportune moment to rethink about the nation following the release of the report.
He noted that there are several issues that need to be addressed and that the report has given the nation a roadmap towards the same.
The former Prime Minister further said that Kenyans will use the report to give birth to a new country.
“These proposals in @TheRealBBIreport are not the end but are the beginning of a much needed national debate about the new Kenya. Out of this a solution will be found which is homegrown that will give birth to a Kenya that we all want and desire. This is history in the making,” he said in a tweet.
During the launch of the report, President Uhuru Kenyatta urged Kenyans from different walks of life to read the content of the BBI report before making their decision over the same.
He reminded the nation that the report is not about him or Raila.
Deputy President William Ruto also reiterated the remarks of the President, saying he supports calls for national dialogue.
