Mutua said that the endless Ruto's endless visits to churches and colossal amounts of money he keeps donating has, makes him think he (Ruto) has more than what God has.

“Every weekend, and sometimes twice on Sundays, Mr Ruto carpet-bombs churches in Central Kenya and Luhya country with wads of cash. The clerics have received the loot as though it was manna from heaven. The mullah isn’t in the thousands, but tens of millions of precious shillings. I should be forgiven for thinking that Mr Ruto has more money than God,” says Mutua in an opinion piece published by a local daily.

Mutua added that DP's refusal to declare his wealth publicly shows that he has something to hide.

The remarks come after National Assembly Minority leader John Mbadi revealed his plan to seek for the capping of church donations at Sh.100,000.

Mbadi opines that Ruto has been donating proceeds from corruption to the churches. He wants Ruto probed over the source of his money.

On his part, Ruto has maintained that he will continue to donate to the churches amidst fierce criticism from different quarters.
