ODM leader Raila Odinga on Wednesday hosted a delegation of leaders from Taita Taveta county led by Governor Granton Samboja.
During the meeting, Odinga urged the leaders not to engage in sideshows at the expense of development.
The former Prime Minister said that service delivery is paramount, and challenged the leaders to embrace good governance.
“Received a delegation from the county government of Taita Taveta led by their Governor @Sambojagranton who briefed me on challenges they are experiencing. I urged them to embrace dialogue with the county assembly so that service delivery to residents of the county is not hampered,” he said.
Last week, Samboja signed a memorandum to dissolve the county government over a budget impasse with the county assembly.
He said that the wrangles over Sh830 million suggested by his executive has caused a storm in the leadership.
Samboja further noted that the MCAs have made life tough for his government because they are ever engaging in conflicts with his leadership.
He divulged that the endless differences have made it difficult for him to deliver the promises he made to the people.
