Controversial Kenyan journalist Jacque Maribe has resigned from Citizen TV.
The former news anchor had been working behind the scenes at the Royal Media Services owned TV station after she was listed as a suspect in the brutal murder of Monica Kimani last year.
Jacque Maribe’s resignation comes shortly after the hearing of her case began.
She is currently out on bail while her co-accused Joseph Irungu popularly known as Jowie, on the other hand, is still in police custody. One of the conditions set by Justice Wakiaga while ruling on her bail application was that she was not to read news comment or participate in an interview directly or indirectly which involved the case.
The court also barred Jacque Maribe from reading news or making contact with any prosecution witnesses either directly or indirectly until the final determination of the case. She was nonetheless released on a cash bail of Sh1 million.
According to a report by Kiss 100, Jacque Maribe may have quit her job to concentrate on clearing her name.
“Other sources from the media house whispered o us saying Jacque Maribe Wants to concentrate on her case, clear her name and get back into the game,” a source told Kiss 100.
Jacque Maribe has not officially commented on the matter.
